Chris has 15+ years of experience working in communications and public schools. She began her career in education as a history teacher at YES Prep Public Schools in 2000, and went on to become the development director for KIPP in Boston. She continued her career with KIPP in Houston, first as development director and then as the founding head of marketing and communications team for ten years. Chris also served as the national vice president of development and marketing at Genesys Works. Recently, Chris has provided external relations consulting to a variety of clients including Davidson College, KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools, The Council on Recovery, and Education Pioneers. For 12 years, Chris served as an elected member of the Spring Branch Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees, holding positions such as Board President, Vice President and Secretary. Chris is also on the boards for American Leadership Forum Houston, SPARK School Park Program, and the Spring Branch Education Foundation. Chris has a Masters of Business Administration from Rice University and Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University. Chris enjoys exercise and reading when she isn’t on the baseball and soccer fields with her four children who attend their neighborhood school and KIPP Courage in Houston.
